Anyone using rdx450d housing with xsi body?

I am having issues getting strobe to sync using the optical sync cord.  strobe fires, but after the shutter has closed.  tried shutter speeds from 1/30 to 1/200, but get no results.

Have tried with ys110 strobe and older strobes with same results.

Any input would be appreciated.

Wes

Are you sure the strobe is firing after the shutter operates?  If you are getting underexposed frames, it is possible that the strobe is actually firing before image is recorded.  You might want to check to make sure the YS-110 strobe settings as correct.  I am not all that familiar with your exact setup, but there may be some form of preflash setting that you need to adjust to make sure the strobe mimcs the cameras entire flash cycle.

Hey Wes.... if it is the original YS-110 there may be issues (hence the introduction of the YS-110a). The original YS-110 did optical TTL  with some cameras.  I never saw any documentation about which cameras were on that list, but that strobe had a very short market life before the YS-110a was introduced.

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
